QianJin Road
Visual Identity System Design for the main thoroughfare of central Kunshan
Background
Qianjin Road is the main thoroughfare of central Kunshan, a well-developed city with rich history in SouthEastern China. The Mayor of Kunshan wanted to build a visual identity for the Qianjin Road District, representing the three main economic drivers of the District while echoing the area's history. These three economic areas are divided geographically along the road, in order to distinguish the various zones three colors were employed. Red for Entertainment, Green for Technology and Blue for Intelligence.
By using a repeating pattern of ever climbing lines evokes the rhythm and historical melody of the city’s enginuity and creative output.

Non-Motor Vehicle lane Design
The bike paths utilize the city’s flower in its design. These flowers also light up at night to help guide riders and notify cross traffic of bike paths. The flowers work in two ways by adding a sense of nature to the urban bike paths and evoke a sense of a larger community within the city.
The crosswalks are a fun way to evoke creativity even during a seemingly mundane activity such as walking. Kushan wanted to evoke the ideal of creativity, fun and design. By interaging fun and creative design into everyday objects Qianjin Road District distinguished itself among other Districts in the city
