Knock Knock
A social app that connects people to have unique interactions.
Background
The idea in KnockKnock (KK) is to bring together people for one-on-one activities. It’s a platform that connects people to have unique interactions.
Unlike tinder or bumble these are not romantic activities. It also differs from MeetUp as these are not group events to do something very grand or “meaningful”. They can be simple things like, “go on a hike this afternoon” or “come to grocery shopping with me”
KK will be based on mobile devices and be work off proximity to the community members or sponsored events. Offline interactions are meant to be short, spontaneous, one-off events that permeate through the community.
Problem
Building a friendship or romantic relationship in modern society can be very hard.
Most relationships are based on a linear progression and develop through shared time and experience between people, this cultivation of time and experience becomes more difficult as people grow older and get more focused on their careers.
Most online relationships are based on images. These images often portray our best selves or how we see ourselves and how we want the world to see us-an entirely selfish position. This is a digital mating ritual, one as old as face paint, fire and tribes.
We want people to make friends or build a long term relationship, but we also see the value in 1000 people having unique interactions with 1000 others

Reflection and Next Steps
Above is the summary for two-weeks’ work. I explored a lot during the time. However, there are always more problems and challenges ahead.
A few things needed to be considered in the following design process
How to set a guideline for hosts to reply to the requests in an appropriate time range.( it should be enough time for host to decide, but not too long to drag others waiting)
How to avoid too many posts generated from one idea?
How to avoid people setting invaild event?
If there are many people interested in joining one event, and the host picks one. How can we build connections between those users who have not been chosen?
